I know this post is pretty old, but does anyone know the other cross faders that the dm2 will accept? Anyone know if the GEMINI PSF45 Pro-scratch will work? Or any other more reasonably priced ones? I just can't see putting a $80 part into something that cost $24.

Which one can u get for $20? The UREI 1601 replacement cross fader is like 49pounds = $73.85. Will the GEMINI PSF45 Pro-scratch work? Cause that one's like $20-24 bucks. From what I'm gathering it needs to be 45mm, around 300k(got this from the video if I remember correctly) with 2 solder points. A lot of the cross faders that I do find on line don't give u a whole lot of specs.

so im looking into alot of one use x-faders by 1 use i mean there not meant to be interchangeable and are vastly cheaper. These are on models like pyles and lower end mixers for the upfader. only thing is we need a digital signal so im working it out. i think ive found some. they will come from china in about 3 weeks so ill do some testing and see where i end up. but these x-faders will be a 100x more responsive.

I think anything will be more responsive. lol! So, I'm still un-clear...Was I correct w/ the specs? In looking up slide potentiometers, they have a lot more specs/info/even diagrams than if I try to find "crossfaders". But again, was I correct w/ the specs?

i believe it was 350k ohm and we had a 400k ohm. I mean for all i know you could use a lot of different ones. we performed this test www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh2cQCLie5Ai have it written down some where but we figured everything out sept the only thing is i believe it was 2 wire i may be wrong but im almost 100% positive id have to bust open the dm2 and check. *update* no its a 3 wire when i wrote down 2 wire i think i meant how many "heads" it had compared to like a ultraglide. with 4 pin connector

sorry to hear that...hope all's well. I just ordered 4 different slides from mouser to give it a try. On the back of the dm2's crossfader it says B50K, so I went w/ a 50K ohm slide pot and chose 30mm to make sure it would fit(also, cause there didn't seem to be any 45mm in stock). I picked 2 audio tapered & 2 linear. Do u know off hand which I should try first(audio or linear)?

I'm guessing you want the linear tapers. Audio tapers are made for volume and have a curve to the output versus position, but this is being used solely as a position sensor basically and is much more likely to use a linear taper.
