Well I'll tell you this much first, Windows 7 makes my computer just sing and I have no intention of ever going back to Vista or XP.
That being said, guess what I can't get to work? Oh I can get the software installed and I ran the 2000 XP update, I've tried manually pointing to the driver files and whatnot but I can't get the dm2 recognized. Why oh why didn't they build this around a standard HID interface board?
That being said I'm wondering if modding this thing to use joypad hardware wouldn't be an easier way around my issues. Never really intended to use the DM2 software, more into Traktor Pro.
So does anyone have any ideas on how I might get this thing to run in 7? I'm using the x64 evaluation version (at least until my full version arrives in the mail). And even if I wanted to dual boot, the only XP disk I have is a 64 bit.

well first it does work in windows 7 much easier then vista. 2nd it will never work in x64. we discussed this long ago and have tried building a enumator 100x with no success. with out the original driver source code we have no way of being able to make a 64 build. we are working on a full windows 7 guide and soon we will have its own board.
i recently had surgery and have not been able to do these types of things but have now gotten back in the game. as soon as we get a full build of win 7 (after beta) then we should have a full virtual dj 6 or w.e version and traktor. we will probably do some other programs as well.

I'm having this issue as well. I can get the drivers installed and updated. Then when I go to configure it for the first time, it keeps telling me "Please plug the DM2 controller into a USB port on your PC." I plug it in, hit ok and it keeps telling me the same thing. I'm just hoping maybe there was an update on this problem.

BTW, Does anybody know a trick I might be missing to get Windows 7 to recognize the DM2? people like this need to not be so dumb why post a question if your never going to come back and read the answer or respond to a question cause you put 0 info on the specs of your setup. So is it your setup or you.

lets get that WINDOWS 7 stuff up, I'm dead in the water over here, I got the software to install, but the dm2 will not find a driver, and then windows tried to install some driver for it, I got a BSOD. So any help on installing this dm2 in windows 7 would be awesome!

I have installed the Virtual OS of Windows XP on Windows 7. Tried to install the DM2 Program and the driver. plus the update. But is there a reason why its still not recognizing it? Is there a way I can go arround this. cuz its still Windows XP?
Thanks.
Windows 7 ultimate x64 i think. Blue Box DM2.

to TMO
1st if it is 64 bit that is why. even in a virtual machine it can cause problems cause of how it routes usb 2nd when i had windows 7 beta i was able to install it by changing some strings in the ini file when installing only thing was that was the beta.
I wanted to wait till retail came out and havent bought a new laptop yet that has windows 7. So i cant confirm but i have gotten it to work on a handful of peoples computers through teanviewer so if youd like me to give it a shot (which anyone with windows 7 who helps to let me teamview and setup the dm2. Helps me be able to write the guide, driver, config files, etc by providing me with information we are in need of)
people dont think about this but there are 100s if not 1000s of actual releases of os/s like windows xp would be in a the 10,000s they add different drivers different updates different preinstalled stuff, different ones each month for pc manufacturers *Dell, hp, acer, etc. Which is why some people i help we have no problem on vista *doing the stript method. And now on windows 7 windows 7 is the easiest of the 2 because there are programs that are compatible that can install the driver. but as i said till i can write a guide im not going to get specific. Cause it wont be like vista where people strip there machine and ruin the warranty and then they get pissed at me cause they dont know jack bout pc's. Id say never attempt any of this unless its on a machine you dont care to lose thats the #1 thing to setting up pcs for djing...
i lose hd's all the time till i went to solid state. HIGHLY recommend for anyone who wants to dj in a bar or mobile alot. have to reinstall my os all the time cause i mess up settings and cant get em back. Me and my latency configs *cause of my ocd i have spent like weeks to shave a 1-2 ms off some of my setups its stupid. lol but hey everyone has there niche

i figured it wouldn't be so easy getting the DM2 to work on 7, so thanks a lot for writing this guide. if you still need more info/help or something for that i'd be willing to do the Teamviewer thing (i'm on 32-bit Win7)
