Hi, You people should seriously look at the Hercules DJ Console, it is 3x the price of the DM2, but 10x more sleek, and doesnt feel like a toy Here for the website: us.hercules.com/products/showpage.php?p=87&b=0&f=1Maybe it is time to plan a DJCtoMIDI program

Hi Guys i got this piece of crap for my birthday in december from Hercules (about 200 Euros). It has no MIDI support at all, all buttons work like keyboard-shortcuts but the knobs and faders don't send any signal since they are for use with the integrated soundcard...
You can use it in Traktor to control all deck-controllers in combination with another controller like the UC-33 to control the mixer but the much more cheaper DM2 works fine!!!
If you like enormous gamepads with about 50 buttons you can have mine, i got a DM2 last week from USA, it is not commercialized in Europe...
Hercules is a company who manufactures soundcards and gamecontrollers, the DJ Console is both of this. It works fine if you can spend another 100$ to buy the complete version of Virtual DJ, the soft bundled with it but only with limited support for soundcards etc..
Cheers

Yep, that's practically what they found out on the Traktor forums. The whole thing is a huge gamecontroller (you could theoretically control a flight sim or something with it and has no pretentions of being a MIDI controller at all. Which is too bad, since it does look a lot more sturdy than my DM2. I like the little thing, but it does have a whole toy-feeling as opposed to the DJ console. Maybe someone should write a console2Midi driver

I read on several forums, that Hercules DJ Console sends only joystick signals and not true MIDI signals. So the solution to this problem would be a joystick to MIDI software. There are plenty of these programs on the net and they are also for free. I tested a lot of them and I found the most complete the Vellocet's (http://vellocet.com) VMIDIJoY. The solution looks like this: The console sends joystick signals to the VMIDIJoY, who translates them to MIDI signals and routes them through Hubi's loopback device (another software) to Traktor (or any other software). Got it? Let me know if it works, because if it does, I am also going to buy one of those DJ Consoles. Mix good and have fun!

Last driver version (VC031G) for the Dj Console throws Midi messages...
It's a good choice to use it with Traktor, as you'll have 3 asio outputs, ridiculous latency and Djmixer-like midi controls, all that in only one box with usb plug.
But don't throw away your DM2, they probably work well together! (I hope so, I'm waiting for my DM2....)

all right, I received my DM2!!!
I checked Traktor using the DM2 and the Hercules DJ Console, they work together as Hell!!! You need a bit of configuration but thanks to DM2 to Midi, you can use them both to rule the world!!
Highly recommended!

If Native instruments wants to get traktor into the clubs they need to offer a controller unit. It doesnt matter if it's Midi, USB, Serial or Parallel - as long as it provides the DJ with proper control.
Come on NI. Ive been waiting over a year now for a real traktor controller.

First hi and props to Mixman, pdoom, and the forum owners and regulars.
Second, I am just wondering - aside from all the bias that hardcore DM2 people (deservedly) feel, is there anyone who wants to really wiegh in honestly on Hercules DJ? It does send MIDI signals, Native Instruments thinks enough of it to create a custom version of Traktor - so wassup? Is it sturdy? Reliable? Easy to use or gets in the way? It LOOKS good, you have to admit...
Any thoughts aprpeciated, oldskool.
