so ima go with a few ways we have been able to get this to work in vista.
first Try this...
1.) UNINSTALL EVERYTHING YOU'VE TRIED TO INSTALL SO FAR.
2.) Right click setup file and select PROPERTIES
3.) Now select COMPATIBILITY
4.) Select RUN THIS PROGRAM FOR WINDOWS XP
5.) Select RUN IN 640 X 480 SCREEN SOLUTION
6.) Run AS ADMIN
7.) Apply
Now when you start the setup the screen is going to get REALLY LARGE
DONT worry about it. Its just a one time deal. Just install like normal.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
(By the way... This Should Work With Most Vista Compatibility Issues
some people tried other compatibility modes and were able to get it to work)
now another way involves downloading vmware or a similar vm workstation software. Install a virtual device with windows xp and install the software just like you would in windows xp. Now some people have had no problems with but alot of you i have been helping. Have been having problems with the mixman software installing as well as after installing the mixman software and calibrating it not being recognized on usb. well here is a link to download a setup that bypass's needing to install the mixman software.

so basically
1. run add remove hardware wizard in windows xp through your vmware workstation. select the folder of the unzipped rar. allow windows to install the dm2.
then run the dm2.reg file and add the setup to the reg.
then copy the dm2.sys to the link location as specified in the readme.txt.
this will help with running dm2 in the windows xp.
Now for those people that get this far and have the mixman software installed and callibrated. Now your having problems with the dm2 not being recognized in vmware. There are a few different vm workstations softwares that have problems with xp and usb not working. So number 1 make sure you dont have one of these versions. Number 2 make sure you update windows xp in vmware or whatever workstation software you use. to help you all out here is the sp2 install link.

OK now some random thing for people to try. So this has worked for one person. well the only person i have had try it and come to me with it is. He took the pack that you can download at www.megaupload.com/?d=J1FED8CS with that in vista he installed everything and added dm2.sys to the corresponding folder in vista for the driver. He then was able to run the software as well as dm2midi in compatibility mode. I never heard anything bout a djing software just that he was able to get the dm2 working. So if anyone else wants to mess around and try this let me know what you did and how it worked.
alternitly you should just use XP vista is hopeless and there already moving onto the next windows which is not going to be vista. So if your sitting there wondering what to do on vista and getting something as easy as the dm2 working. Goto best buy or circuit city pick up a copy of xp for 100 bones. Then you might actually have something more then a giant paperweight thats only good for checking email and browsing the net. Im serious i said this from the beginning vista is fluff and pointless. I dont care if your pc came with it (i have 3 computers that came with it and vista never lasted longer then a day), I dont care if it was given to you with vista. VISTA IS CRAPPPP AND YES YOU DO HAVE CHOICE. so enjoy your time with xp till windows 7 comes out and everything you said or thought about why you kept vista will have been a waste and you will be free from compatibility tyranny. Sorry i love to add my rants in the beginning or end of my posts.
