I saw on Mixman's site, under FAQ that in 2004 they would be releasing a software update that would allow they playing of MP3s? Has anyone seen or heard of it's release. I have sent several emails to Mixman, but alas no reply.

yeah, it says that.......here read it ....... "However, coming in 2004, will be a new Mixman Application that allows MP3 true-DJing with DM2 controller. This will be available to anyone who owns a working DM2 controller. This will allow users to load one MP3 on each virtual turntable and then do DJ tricks. It will also allow “load-on-the-fly”, which means you can keep loading MP3s without stopping in between."

I think the DM2 people gave up on their product. They won't be making any new ones with better design, but they'll sure sell the old ones to Circuit City and Target. There are so many improvements they could've made to the DM2, more buttons, scratch wheels that are actually in motion with the music and pressure sensitive so you can do gradual or abrupt stops. But with interfaces like Ms. Pinky (http://www.mspinky.com/) and Stanton Final Scratch (http://www.stantondj.com/v2/fs/whatisfs.asp) they probably don't see any point in bothering.
While those set-ups turn PC de-jaying into authentic vynil its still waaaay out of my price range.
