WHY did they make the crossfader in the crappy fashion that they did! I can't do any decent cuts with it! Maybe loosen it up or something... i dunno

yeah, it really does suck!
thats why I had to go out and buy a UC-17/X-session to use in place of the fader....
wish i could figure out a way to make it looser as well.....

well there isn't any circuits directly underneath the crossfader. the problem seems to be that it's hugging the plastic. screw that, i'll just buy a fader from an electronics store or something. one with a shiny light in it.

I just ordered a dm2 so I wouldnt know what the fader looks like inside. Does anyone have any pics of it? I want to know how the crossfader is connected and what kind of connection it has so I can replace it with a spare real dj mixer crossfader I have if its possible

Ok, so the wd40 is some kind of lubrifiant. What you're saying ragga is that with this product, the crossfader is now working fine ?
I did open the beast and I took of the crossfader out from the grey button (i had to force a little bit). But the crossfader itself seems to be very hard, this is why I'm asking this question concerning wd40.
The crossfader's position is horizontal, while most of crossfader are vertical, is it possible to change it ( i see only 2 wires) and put an normal one between to the A & B button ?
Thanks, tobywo

hello again!
to be honest i regret stating that..! lol as using WD40 does work in the short term... in the long term it produces a black grease besides the tracks ! not good.... i had to get in there with cotton wool and alcohol and clean all the crud out.! ;-) lmao...
i have an alternative solution though...
i recently bought from eBay a normal scratch mixer and have set Traktor up for 'external mixer' so you have no onscreen controls just ya new mixer ... voila ! much better fader! plus if you get a 4 channel mixer you can mash ya Technics in the mix aswell!

all you got to do, its take a multimeter and figure out the resistance of the slider (its just a pot) then solder your own on there...you can get a 1/8" plug and wire it so you can plug it in and out. simple as pie. It might even tell you what kind of pot it is on the bottom of the thing.
good luck.
