did this mod on my old dm2 (getting a fresh one in the mail) took it apart. cut away clear vinyl on each platter. attached the clear vinyl with super glue to the spinning . then attached via superglue, a 45 record to each platter. i'm attempting to regain some of the button functions on the platters by using spacers under the vinyl record and spacers on the contacts on the pcb inside. I must say that reponsiveness has gone up a lot. i'll post some audio and video soon..

From what you've written, are you saying that with the two 45s stuck on the DM2, now you won't be able to get to the 16 buttons anymore??!! QDJ

i think there`s two options i would do:
first: glued that vinyl to center button and set it to scratch when i press it (press vinyl and button) second: as said one, cut off more space to reach buttons..

Loving this... just ordered my first dm2 off ebay and can't wait to start cutting it up to look like yours.
You've given me much inspiration! ;D

nothing was glued or cut... (apart from the vinyl which need about half a cm bigger hole) used blue tack to put the vinyl on the scratch ring after removing the plastic button covers. thin bits of card in the middle keeps the vinyl from shaking around too much. ok i lost the extra buttons but the fun factor has shot right up

Yeah, I love it. Now I'm getting a 3rd dm2, lol. I have been taking mine apart and painting them different colors... pics coming in the next day or two, soon as I can get a decent camera.
