you know what the dm2 controller needs?: a capacitance switch on the scratcher rings.
maybe in the form of small metal studs, this way you could turn on the hold simply by touching the rings.
that would solve alot of the "wrong feel" of this device.
i've been learning to scratch in fl studio using spyros friutyscratcher
setup
im thinking of a mod for the dm2 we can do in our homes by ourselves. the metal studs could just be thumb tacts, connected by wire, to the curcuit of the buttons handling the hold .
you see i was using a wacom tablet to scratch with spyro's setup and I couldnt get over how much more natural it felt.
as soon as the pen touches the tablet the hold activates, but the curcer still follows the pen when is not touching the pad. that was a great relief not having to trigger the hold myself.
yet, i still want an interface for the friutyscratchers that is much more tactile, and when i found the dm2 & dm2midi online it seemed like the perfect answer to the problem.
but now i see it's not, without some sort of auto-hold solution like the wacom tablet provided, it would be a 1000 times more combersome than a mouse.
i dont really see how i could manually trigger the hold, move the ring while triggering the muting and have that be very smooth. the answer has to be a touch activated hold feature (like the wacome tablet) on the scratcher rings themselves.
this would be a pretty easy mod for me to do if i ever get my hands on one.
so this is what i'm asking, who is willing to have me bucher there spair dm2 for the sake of digital djdume.
id buy one myself but im much to broke, but i can preform this mode
and give detailed instructions on how it can be done. (once ive done it )
