Since there seems to be alot of grief trying to use the DM2 with Vista does this also mean dm2midi is not working in Vista either?

VMware is an expensive solution at $180+, Perhaps I'll have to wait and cross my fingers for a better solution.

Hi.
I've tried installing the DM2 on Windows XP 32-bit (SP3) in VMWare Workstation 6.5. My host OS is Windows Vista 64-bit.
I can get the calibration utility running. HOWEVER, after this I try and run DM2MIDI and it says it "no DM2 detected" ... "Additional error info: DeviceIoControl failed. DM2 device creation failed".
Am I missing something here? Windows XP recognizes the DM2 when I plug it in.
I'm eager to get back to mixing with my DM2, any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

I don't want to have to run a whole bunch of operating systems on my computer just so I can use my DM2. Sadly I run vista (64), which means I can't get DM2 to midi to work, even after I run the install in compatibility for XP SP2 and Run as Admin through command prompt. I tried doing both of those things individually and together and no luck.
Is there ANY way to make it work without using vmware workstation or similar software?

Nothing to it really. just make a copy of xp on a cd rom follow bart PE setup and bam its easier then trying to explain how simplified dual booting o/s can be. By just dual booting it directly from a cdrom.

Would updating to windows 7 work? My school sells it for 30 bucks and I don't own an XP disk, which makes it a lot harder to boot XP. If I can have my DM2 work the OS that I'm running, that would be perfect.
