Hey, I've got an hp pavilion 9500 (the model without front spdif) and was wondering if anybody knew a couple things about the audio routing on this lappy. It's got 2 headphone jacks on the front, but I can't find a way to send different signals to each jack. This would be useful for having a monitor mix and a main mix, and so I wanted to know if anybody successfully got two signals simultaneously out of this. Maybe I just have to buy a USB soundcard? When you plug in headphones, apparently the software detects it, pops up a message and shuts off the speakers, so I know they're at least somewhat software controlled. I just don't know if the two jacks are connected separately to the bus, or if it's just a built in splitter on the same signal. There's also an HDMI out on this lappy, but I don't know of an inexpensive or space-efficient way to extract the 5.1 audio from there, and I don't think the PC lets you run digital and analog audio simultaneously. Then, if I have to buy a soundcard, I'm wondering if I'll have fewer conflicts getting a cheapo stereo soundcard, simple, with fewer drivers, but stacking it with the internal one, or a 5.1 soundcard, which might be more likely to have driver conflicts, but could run solo.
Thanks

you need a special asio driver or just use the asio driver in say virtual dj. Basically if you follow my guide on asio outting you can do it. Its a crazy driver there is guides on how to do this. I have a hp pavillion model that has the same feature. An was able to get it working with the 5.1 method using front and back out. Depends on the model.. I dont know let me know or message me on aim at djprotojeex and i might be able to walk you through some stuff.

also a simpler solution is buying a usb soundcard for your laptop. there about 10 dollars shipped on ebay. I went for the creative labs soundblaster usb for better quality and latency. with less problems then the 10 dollar version. Some times it the 10 dollar ones cut out and do the windows connect disconnect sound. But that isnt true for all machines id say is a 10% ratio from happening in a set anyways. if u got the soundblaster then you could use your onboard and your soundblaster and get 4 decks going if you wanted to.
