I looked all over this message board and on google, and I could not find anything to get the DM2 working on Windows 7 (I have 32bit). I did read few times on this board that someone will post a driver and instructions soon. But this was posted many months ago. What's the status? Can we expect it soon?... or look for other solutions?

well basically what it took to get it to work with the old driver. is considered reverse engineering and will invalidate your key with there automated software. i learned this the hard way. An the 3 developers working on it all have other jobs. So we do what we can do on our spare time. i tried to ask for community contribution (not money but developer time) and i received no response. so we will get there just please give us time in the mean time you can load windows xp on a usb stick or on a abootable cdrom instead of a virtual machine. this allows you to use all your songs on the root structure of the windows 7 hard drive. unfortunately we are not millionaires and need to work a 6a-11p jobs everyday to pay the energy bill to power our pc's to develop such software. and then theres the fact that we cant infringe on others copyrights and what not. i mean theres alot involved here man. example on booting windows from usb stick. . this is the first result froma google search on it so shazaaaam articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-22_11-5928902.html

so for everyone with this question the other solution as it was put is a bootable windows USB stick or CDROM for those who cant buy a thumb drive or dont have a computer that has the usb support but however i was able to get this done on a pentium 2 a 233 celeron a k6-2. so if you cant get it to work the first time there are hundreds of solutions and im here to help. you can message me directly etc.

Is there anyway to get Loop Studio to work without DM2? Keyboard would be fine with me...

yes we are still fully in the mix of developing a driver but we have had to do alot of things and one of the developers just had a kid so we are down to 2 people. Dont lose hope this is my first attempt at a dm2 driver for a modern o/s. As i said to so many ;people that cant google you can use a cd rom bootable version of xp or usb bootable version. Both have there inheret flaws but if you cant afford a 40 gig hard drive to throw in your desktop *coughs* 10 dollars on ebay.. To dual boot the proper way then that is your only hope for the time being.

actually because of all the problems we are having we are in the works of making a box that converts the dm2 to midi signals. Using a standard win usb midi driver. Then we can just add a cmos to the box. Well its alot of technical stuff that i still dont quite understand but its showing promise more then trying to write a driver anyways. we are still working on it. But windows 7 just is a pain in the arse.
