Hugh here, had a controller for more than a year but I want to make some trk's of my own and would hear advice on 'Trackmaker' vs. 'StudioXpro' and/or other. Hope someone is knockin' around this board every once in a while that I can discuss some creative ideas with.

studio pro is newer and trackmaker i believe is a converter. I know the trk files are meant to be loops they are meant to be small tracks 16 secs i think are biggest ive seen from mixman, etc. i would just use it as a midi controller. as the software is proprietary and sucks the big one cool for 1998 but for 2010 you can just get real software that can loop etc. you can use the dm2 in fruity loops which is more music production not so much looping. i geuss it would be what are you trying to do with the TRK files is the question. mixman software is well mixman software and idk out of all the d-plates i have i can say the software is useless in a modern day sense.

Thanks, djprotojeex, Probably a huge learning curve on FL. AcidPro 4.0 . Can you suggest some tutorials?
The D-Plates - are they available? just to mess around with.

for dplates other then the stock dplates very few are on the net... i have almost all of them on cd except for a few. the copyrights expire next year for some and in 2 years for the later ones. but FLstudio and Acidpro it all works. as far as tutorials i think there is a fruity loop one by some kid on the utube. but other then that im not sure its all in midi settings and its fairly easy. you can just assign keys in acidpros midi setup. In fruity loops i like to assign a 1-16 keyset. That way when your building patterns you can just hit the spacing 2/4s 1/3s etc and what not. Make the wheels a scroll to move up and down on the instrument. You can do it any way you want just something i found to be nifty.
but all said i prefer and oxygen 8 for fl studio

Where would us humanoids and earthlings be without the Great influences of Alliens ? Mostly dead and starting to smell bad, I suspect.
