Hey so, I am running a virtual machine on a windows 7 laptop. Using VMplayer to run windows xp on it. I tried installing DM2 but it never recognizes when i plug in the controller. the program only opens up when i disconnect the controller. Its pissing me off can anybody help me?

Its pissing me off can anybody help me? ok so you did a great job installing a virtual machine the only downside is that it in some cases like 60% wont work cause it cant route the usb signal to the virtual machine. so what we recommend now is to make a cd-rom bootable install of xp. Which means it will load windows xp off your cdrom and run off of a temp folder on the hard disk. This can be done with bart pe, you can also make a usb flash drive bootable xp. it actually works really well looks and feels like thats the os on the computer. An the best part is you can go back and forth between win7 and xp as to figure out your drivers what you need what you dont need what wont work. but generally everything should have a xp driver. I find more and more laptops these days make it easier to run xp.

hey thanks i will try that. So does that mean that when i install all the programs they get installed into the temporary folder? or do they work their way into the cd?

So does that mean that when i install all the programs they get installed into the temporary folder? or do they work their way into the cd? thats a good question you can actually run alot of programs from the windows xp boot disk theres 2 options you can preload an install which i have read how to do, but its not on the top of my head. or you can reinstall the program to the location that is already on the other o/s and it will install only the files you need in the temp location. if you were to do it on a flash drive it would install it to the flash drive till its full.

Hey so I am trying to follow the directions on how to make a CD bootable XP... but the only instructions on BartPE are if you are using xp at the time. I have a downloaded .iso image file of the xp installation CD. How would I use that to create it?

The cd bootable xp won't recognize my ipod (which has all my dm2 install files etc.). or maybe its cuz i have no idea as to what im doing with this ( sorry i have like absolutely no knowledge as to programming and crap like that :S ). any suggestions?
