I am only posting this because I am so excited that i actually figured it out on my own.
If you search around this forum you will find various methods and configurations for using your DM2 with VDj. I am currently using the "bare bones driver" manual install/DM2MIDI/MidiYoke along with the 4 mode that Protojeex so kindly provided all the .xml files for mapping and device defining. AND a 5 page .pdf with illustrated layouts for each mode. BRAVO
BUT.... after using it for a little while i realized i needed to fine tune it a little bit to cater to my style. And after going through such an intensive installation process just to get the friggin thing to work, I was not about to start changin code... actually, i couldnt really figure out which codes to change.
I like to manipulate loops so I wanted the scratchrings to act like the loop shift knobs that are present on most VDj skins next to the in/out's.
I had figured out how to make keyboard shortcuts to do this but it was incrimental and not as fluid as i had hoped for plus you could only affect one deck at a time.
...and then i saw in the "actions" dialog on the mapper tab wheel_mode[/color] and actually has alot of functionality including browser control, shifting the in & out points, jog etc. and all you gotta do is create a keyboard shortcut such as:
KEY: backspace
ACTION: wheel_mode "loop_move,jog" +1
then whenever you press "backspace" it will toggle your scratchrings to either shift your loop or jog through the track.
I have found a number of definitions &/or actions defined in VDj that are.... well, humorous i guess. like the term "automagically" is used several times. there are actions such as "getfood" which is defined as 'even djs need to eat'
so i encourage some exploration of the mapper tab and see what tricks can be shared.
