Hey guys, I searched before asking this but I couldn't find anything.
Does anybody have a diagram of the circuit boards in the dm2? I am weary of cracking it open in the coming days because I have a bunch of gigs and would hate to screw something up, but I want to get a jump on my mod planning.
Main thing I want to find out is how many faders it will accommodate. Seems like i'll have 1 with the xfader and 4 with the joystick (up, down, left, right). Is this true?
I have seen a lot of posts regarding this theory but it's mostly mentioned in passing and not solidly acknowledged.

you cant do 4 pots with the joystick. You might be able too if you split the positive and negative axis i have a diagram but have no plans on releasing it until the copyright for the dm2 is up. it was on the internet for a few weeks before it was taken down so i imagine someone might have it who isnt tied to the admins of this board. I hope i made that understandable ;)i actually have one where i did 2 pots. I looked into splitting positive and negative but was too busy with driver development to really draw up a diagram to do it. If you know anything about installing pots you can do the math in no time.

got it. if anybody has any photos or diagrams, please PM me.
no, i don't know much about installing pots other than +/- GND. so... yeah, i'm not too keen on what math would be involved.
so it seems that 10k ohm linear pots would do the trick, right? is there any info out there about specs? power, resistance, etc.?

right on. i understand about the legal stuff. i'm interested to see a diagram if you can take the time. i'm going to get another dm2 soon and gut that one. i'll try a few things out and share with the class what worked for me.

just wondering, what are the rules to linking other forums? i found a few hi-res pics of the dm2 busted open and it might be a nice resource for others doing the same kind of digging as me. let me know.

There are some nice posts over at the www.djtechtools.com/ forums where some guys have come up with some interesting ideas and provided great documentation and photos. One is by a guy who goes by Trial. He includes some nice high-res photos of the jog wheels and CBs. djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=800Another superb mod is done by faeruithir and there is some really helpful info across 9 pages of the thread related to soldering new buttons. www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9046 Plus you can see how a finished mod looks and get some ideas about your mod. I intend to do a similar one as faeruithir since I have an XSession Pro.

ya some of that has been posted here before and discussed on. Some of the dm2's i have made are way better. I built a numark total control and dm2 into the same unit and cnc'd out the layout in diamond plate.
