whats the exact error. Cause with the fix on VPC in win7 it fixed the usb problems and shouldnt be a problem. Did you try the hacked driver for xp that doesnt make you install the mixman software. Cause if not that may be the difference between my install and yours. just link driver to device and run configuration utility and bam ur done. Lemme know and i will be glad to help

That is exactly what happens to me as well. What happens is it recognizes the USB port fine, the installation screen pops up, and then i select the folder where the drivers are. Then it starts to install, but the VPC crashes and when it reboots it says it recovered from a fatal error. djprotojeex... I did use the hacked files but you still have to install the drivers in there right? thats what the instructions say atleast... and that installation is where it crashes.

gimme a few days to investigate this further and recreate the error. If not i think i might create a xp image of it already installed off of my vpc.

ive made like 15 xp images and everytime vpc corrupts them. I think ima try something like nero backitup or something that can make me a disc image.
See i do a xp image of my install and then try to reinstall it in another and it wont recognize the image. and even if i reopen VPC to open the image it says its corrupted. So i need to use something besides microsofts disc image since they prolly didnt expect people to do that.

oh wow eh... is there a way to maybe copy paste the drivers required without having to go through the whole installation process? Because the problem comes around when like after you plug it in, the screen that says install drivers from designated folder. When you click install it just resets the entire thing. I tried copying all the drivers into the drivers folder in C, but it doesn't work.
