Even with the DM2/Traktor template that allows scratching without a button you run into another problem: Because the wheel doesn't know your finger is there, you cannot stop the sample. DM2 only registers a forward or backward push. Turning scratching ON and OFF can be rather confusing. The XP10 has a metal top that senses your finger as you grab to scratch, no need to hold a button while you jiggle the wheel. Scratching or "holding" of the sample ends when you let go of the jog-wheel. And as for my gripe about not being able to do gradual slows, the outer ring of the XP10 acts as pitch bender so you can do instant stops by touching the metal top, or smooth slow-down with the outer ring.
