Hi everyone,
SO it took me a while to get my DM2 going as it only works with the software under Windows 98 (didn't care to use it as a midi board, only way it would work under xp/windows7).
Luckily I had an older P4 machine where the motherboard supported Windows 98, but I had to get a video card, sound card, internet card, etc. It took me a month to track down parts, and I got a full version of Windows on ebay...and had to find all the updates, directx, etc. to get DM2 to work. I can help anyone out with a build or where to find software if needed.
I'm finally playing around with it, and it's pretty sweet. All in all it cost me about $80 total to get the DM2 (new in box) and software/hardware.
I'm creating .wav files to use in mixes with Sony Acid, and Audacity, and found a whole crapload of free beats and .wav files that work with it. Some of the included sounds are just whack, so replacing those makes it much nicer to use.
I have a USB sound card right now, which is causing some delay with the 4beat stereo scratching (the realistic scratching with the DM2), so at some point if I want to really scratch in real-time I'll have to find a really nice sound card circa 2000 or so (and make sure those drivers are included!).
Glad I found a forum...starting up some mixes for my buddy who underground battles.

hmmmm , it should have worked with windows XP (even if manual says its not supported) the delay may come from win98 ... not even sure external USB soundcard existed back then, at least it was defenetly not common.
About scratching, if its within DM2 software ... cant help you but if it's with other DJ's program using DM2Midi, you have to setup the parameters of the scratch ring ...
good luck
