Nice setup corporation. That x-session looks nice. You should definitely try to get the midiox way working as it truly delivers a much improved scratch relative to bomes. I have used it for about 3 hrs with frequent scratching and I am very pleased with it ;D. Scratching has never been more pleasurable with dm2 and traktor. The only drawback with the dm2 now is it's physical build. Those d**n rings!!! I have found a temporary solution however, which is to use a small piece of tape or adhesive paper to level the rings, this helps a lot but its still not the best. Anyway, I think you should give it another shot. Just go over the steps that Gaeleed supplied. It may just be something minor that you overlooked. Trust me Corporation, you will be looking like this guy ;D when you get it working properly. Will keep in touch. Big up PDOOM and GAELEED (geniuses) Respect Infinity

Really cool to see you like those settings, it's pretty rewarding! But just to show that I am not a genius, this is what the settings are about : it's that simple, just fooling around Midi Ox until luckily it worked, without really anderstanding how.... So if you want some genius to go along with Pdoom, you can state Jamie O'Connell and Jerry Jorgenrud who wrote the MidiOx and midi Yoke

so I've tried reinstalling traktor, no dice. probably my only choice would be to do a complete reinstall of everything..... my laptop's due for that any way. probably for the new year i'll do it.

Hey Im new at this .I have Win Xp and have all updates to use DM2 on Xp ,also have Traktor installed and midi yoke installed and Bome's Midi Translator. I have done all the things I was told to get it all working together. But when I use my DM2 in traktor the scratching decks dont work and the 1 2 3 4 blue buttons seem to do nothing. But everything else works. Can someone help?

Another thing that would make DM2 in Traktor more like real turntables is mute buttons. I'm thinking that the setup would work better if there was a way to just spin the wheels to scratch (instead of having to hold in the button, since this gets in the way of full circle spins) and have the buttons in the center of each wheel be mute buttons, then you could do muting on the back and forward scratch when you want.

You probably forgot to load the presets in DM2MIDI On the note of my problem, I am using traktor, dm2midi, and midi-ox, followed tutorials and what not, everything functions fine but when I scratch it "warbles" I guess would be the only way to describe it, it doesnt do that with bomes and the original synth.biz settings I dont think, my DM2 is kinda old and im using .3 version of traktor could this be the problem

Okies... I downloaded and installed MidiOxlatest version, but I don't have a single clue as to how I should go about setting this thing up for Traktor.

Lovely! I hadn't checked out the possibilities of the DM2 for a while, I just tried it and it works impressively well! It is however a touch too sensitive for my style; a little swirl of the jogwheel sends the sound into a digital runway to vinyl emulation hell. Little, controlled movements of a few degrees forward and backward are key here - just like on vinyl, probably - but I'd like to be able to make more pronounced movements on the wheels. Where could I change settings in MidiOX to accomplish that?

I'd like to be able to make more pronounced movements on the wheels. Where could I change settings in MidiOX to accomplish that? In DM2MIDI, go to 'Settings' > 'Scratch Rings'. there you can adjust the sensitivity of the rings.

In traktor, you can adjust this too.
Go to options, input, find the Scratch inputs control for both decks and you can set the sensitivity.
Good luck!

One more little improvement. With the task manager under XP, you can change the priority for DM2MIDI and MidiOx from Normal to Abovenormal. This give a lot more responsiveness to your Dm2 (really!), especially when scratching. Check this page if you don't know how to change the priority : www.theandyzone.com/computer/winxp/apppriority.htmlChange for midiox.exe and DM2MIDI.exe processes. You need to try!

I would like to see individual mute on Forward/Backward scratch for the DM2 and Tracktor. I've got a few ideas but no clue how to make it happen. I have a setting that I made that is pretty good (for me anyway) I'd like to send it to someone else and let them fool around with it. (mail me at blaze.fox.kitsune@gmail.com) Please see my "Improved way of scratching" thread for my idea of how to implement muted backward/forward scratch.
